I am a wife, mother of four children (12,7,5,4), and Physical Education Teacher, and Track Coach at a middle school. I have always loved running from the time I was small. My Dad was a big runner during his time. In 2009, I started racing in local races and really enjoyed it. I also found out then I had a natural talent and placed 2nd in a series on 10 races in Charlotte, NC. I took some time off from running to have children, but remained active. Two years ago I picked it up again and last August started working with a coach to run a marathon, which was a lifetime goal. A few bumps in the road during training, but last March I set out and ran the Myrtle Beach Marathon. I placed 6th ouT of the Females with a time of 3:18 and good enough to qualify for Boston in my first marathon! Since then I have ran my best times in every distance from a 5k to a half. Getting stronger and faster is my drive to keep going. I love showing my students and my children you can do hard things, but you have to put in the work to get there!
CAREER RUNNING HIGHLIGHTS:
The Myrtle Beach Marathon placing 6th overall and 3rd in my age group and qualifying for Boston. Also last April the Run United Half in Aiken placing 3rd overall with a 1:31, which qualified me for New York!
WHY TEAM OS1ST:
There are so many companies out there that sell all types of products, however OS1st is more local to me. ( Hickory, NC is not that far) and I love supporting local businesses. Along with the fact that I love the plantar socks and can’t wait to try other products.
