I’ve been a runner all my life, but originally just as cross training for other sports. Over the past five years, I’ve become more seriously focused on running and racing. I’m a member of a large local run club and we race and train together weekly, encouraging each other to become better runners and better people overall. They have seriously become like family to me.
I’m a PA at a Cancer Center, so running is my necessary outlet. I appreciate every day that I am physically able to get out the door and run, because I know not everyone is as lucky as me. I run for those who can’t! (and sometimes for ice cream)
CAREER RUNNING HIGHLIGHTS:
My absolute favorite half marathon was a huge PR for me in 2017 – 1:46 at the Bird in Hand Half Marathon in Pennsylvania. The goal is to get after that time here soon!
I completed my first full marathon at Marine Corps Marathon in October 2018. This was a huge comeback for me after being injured for six months from Fall 2017-Spring 2018. I learned so many things over that time including the key role that strength training and foam rolling play in endurance running. Anything is possible, and you are stronger than you realize. The marathon changes you.
WHY TEAM OS1st?
My favorite products are the calf sleeves for running, and the plantar fasciitis socks and compression bracing socks for recovery post-run. I live in those socks on my shifts at the hospital! I have used a LOT of compression products, but OS1st are by far my favorite.
