This is a great pair of socks...While these are not made from Merino Wool, they actually perform almost as well. They are clearly breathable and moisture-wicking making them perfect for hiking, walking, or just about any physical activity. They feature a slight amount of compression around the middle which adds to their overall comfort. I also appreciate the extra cushioning which helps eliminate discomfort and blistering during my daily long distance power walks. As an added benefit these quarter crew socks are actually pretty good looking too.
These are well made socks; nicely finished with no loose threads inside or out. They are advertised as "maximum cushion", but the cushioning seems at best average to me. I love that the socks come in 4 different sizes so everyone gets a good fit. Compression is pretty light, as advertised, so if you prefer socks with good arch and ankle support, you should look elsewhere. Price of these socks is currently $16 for one pair, which is very pricey for socks that aren't made from a fancy wool. I have some other medium-cushion medium-compression socks that cost $4 and work just as well for me, even for long hard runs where blister protection and fit are very important.
The elephant in the room for these socks is how much do you want to save for foreign made socks versus how much you want to pay for American made socks? That is a question best answered individually and what each must weigh is to get multiple pairs of socks for the price of one pair of socks. That being said, these are great quality socks. I play lots of tennis and I'm always open to trying out new socks. I can safely say that these are one of my favorite brands after giving them a test. The fit is great, not too bulky. The middle part has extra elastic - at least it looks like that - to ensure a snug, no sliding around fit. These socks are very breathable and seamless everywhere but the reinforced toe box. The tops, again with elastic, firmly grab the ankles for a great fit. Since these are relatively new to me, I cannot say how their durability is at this time. In summary, wonderful sock for running or tennis - not too thick at all - and the only question that remains is are they worth the same as some nice, three pack socks of a similar price?
