OS1st community donates to California Fire Foundation in response to 2020 wildfire season

HICKORY, NC – From August to November, OS1st offered to donate $5 for every pair of FS4 Plantar Fasciitis Sock in Merino Wool purchased on www.OS1st.com to the California Fire Foundation  during an unprecedented California wild fire season.

“Being in Western North Carolina, we know the value of forest, trails, and community mean to us and to the larger running, hiking, and general outdoor enthusiast community,” President, Josh Higgins said. “We could not launch a merino wool sock, meant for enjoying the outdoors, while we were watching people lose homes and lives in California.”

As of November 3, 4,100 firefighters still battled 22 wildfires in California, according to fire.ca.gov. During the 2020 California wildfire season, over 4.1 million acres burned, more than 10,000 homes and other structures were destroyed, and 31 lives were lost.

The California Fire Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization that provides emotional and financial assistance to families of fallen firefighters, firefighters, and the communities they protect. The foundation’s Supplying Aid to Victims of Emergency (SAVE) program brings immediate, short-term relief to victims of fire or other natural disaster throughout the state.

“We hope this donation, made in partnership with our customers, will be of assistance to those fighting the fires and those effected by the devastation,” Higgins said. “We are so thankful for everyone who purchased a pair of FS4 Plantar Fasciitis Socks in Merino Wool to partner with us in this donation.”
